YAK Car Pic of the Day

This 1966 Ford Mustang hardtop was conveniently located right down the street from our house in the City of Tonawanda one day last week. A true Mustang-spotter wouldn’t have a problem telling the ’65s from the ’66s — the wheel covers for instance, were different (but that could be easily changed), and the gas cap design was changed for ’66 as was the shape of the chrome spear in the rear-quarter panel scoop behind the front door. The earlier models didn’t have the elongated chrome pieces which point toward the front of the car. The grille is also different, but that won’t help you with this one, will it? Here’s a link to the nifty 1966 Mustang brochure.
