YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

I could see myself in this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 S sedan, a classy-looking ride if ever there was one. We showed you a very similar car a few weeks back, as featured on the television series Bates Motel. This one however, is for sale right here in the Town of Wilson. It even has the original window sticker from the delivering dealership in Baltimore, Maryland back in the day. Equipped with a 2.8-liter straight six engine and an automatic transmission, the 280 S was the base model of the range introduced for 1967, which also included the 280 SE (basically the same engine with fuel-injection). In a pinch, the 280 SE cabrio below would also do nicely (photo from boldride.com).

That generation of 280s is among the most visually appealing machines ever to be crafted by the Benzmen. They had very refined road manners, too and were solid as they come.
