YAK Car Pic of the Day

This one’s from the “If You Blinked, You Missed It” department. It’s a 1960 Edsel Ranger convertible. Ford only built 76 of these ragtops before removing Edsel from the life support machine it had been on since its introduction for the 1958 model year. Ford president Robert McNamara had decided to kill the nameplate right about the time the new ’58s were hitting the showroom. Talk about a disappointment! The token 1960 models weren’t even really Edsels, but were Fords with different trim — and of course, higher prices. A winning combination! See the entire 1960 Edsel line here.
