YAK Car Pic of the Day

As I sit here Monday evening, it’s 6:45 pm and 87°. Seems like a good enough time as any to drag this 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible out of the archives. I spotted it over a year (and about 70°) ago in a repair shop lot in Pembroke. It’s good to remember days like these, just before you open your yap and start complaining “it’s too hot!” Holy moley. The 500 was the cheapest full-sized convertible in the lineup for ’68 at $3,108. For another $106 you have have had a hidden-headlamped XL — of which just over 6000 were produced, compared with almost 12,000 500s. See the whole big Ford lineup here.
