YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

It’s TV week here on the YAK Blog page; new TV for a change. Starting with this 1969 Volvo 145 driven by Zooey Deschanel’s character, Jess, on the FOX sitcom New Girl. The four main characters on this show drive the most unusual vehicles for a bunch of 30-something roommates living in an L.A. loft: the Volvo, a last-generation Buick Century, a new Ford Flex, and a beat-up 1987 Toyota Corolla. The humor is often as off-beat as the vehicle choices, but, however bad it gets, there’s always Zooey Deschanel. The 145 was the station wagon model of the 144 (a four-door sedan) and was produced from 1967-74.
