From today’s press release:
For its second summer of the concert series that became the talk of town in 2012, Larkin Square will present 14 weeks of free Wednesday concerts under the banner of Live at Larkin presented by First Niagara. Set outdoors in the jewel of Larkinville, Live at Larkin features more than 30 Buffalo bands between June 19th and September 18th, bookended by touring acts with roots in Western New York and overall offering a lineup in which the majority of performers will be making their Live at Larkin Wednesday debut.
Adding to the music each Wednesday will be the Larkin Square Marketplace, featuring 10-15 farmers, food and craft artisans selling their goods during the concerts. Food and drink will be available for purchase from The Filling Station, Grill and Square 1 Sandwiches along with food trucks Amy’s Truck and Rolling Joe Café.
“Last summer the community embraced Larkin Square – especially on Wednesday nights – and this year we’re featuring more bands and vendors while adding new free events that fit this beautiful and unique space,” said Larkin Square Director of Fun, Leslie Zemsky. “We’re excited to roll out the hula hoops for another summer of fun – all ages welcome!”
Additional announced events include the ongoing Larkin Square Author Series, continuing on Monday, May 6th, with Lauren Belfer, and May 20th with Thomas J. Reigstad, and the Larkinville Challenge presented by the Buffalo Bicycling Club beginning May 16th. Summer events still to be announced include Parkin’ at Larkin classic car shows and the Buffalo Air Band Championship; for more information and to join the Larkin Square mailing list, visit www.larkinsquare.com.
