YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

Here’s a 1953 Willys Aero Ace, photographed last month down at the C.T.C. Auto Ranch in Denton, TX. This one is actually being offered for sale on C.T.C.’s website for $1,995, but it is mistakenly listed as a ’54. The taillights on a ’54 would have been larger. Sorry C.T.C.! Willys produced just 4,988 of these Ace two-doors for 1953, at a price of $1,963. The price is what killed the compact Aero, because in 1953 you could have bought a full-sized Chevy, Ford, or Plymouth for hundreds less. When less costs more, less usually loses.
