YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

Here’s our daughter Katie, fresh out of the U.S. Army and trying her darnedest to give a little class to this tired-looking 1971 Lincoln Continental two-door hardtop. Before heading back to good old Western New York we made a stop at the Wrench-A-Part scrapyard just outside of Austin, Texas, where they thoughtfully have every car raised off the ground to make it easier for customers to pull their own parts. Not too sure just how well these hunks of scrap iron will balance on those skinny old rims should a good wind storm ever blow through. Some trim bits missing, but still a lot of good, rust-free body parts still on this old Lincoln. Here’s a link to the original brochure. And just for good measure, a link to Wrench-A-Part.
