YAK Car Pic of the Day

From the I Hate When That Happens Department come this neat 1950 Ford. I came across it one day a while back on the internet, downloaded it, and today found it in a folder on my desktop. No idea where I got it from. So I typed “1950 ford gray primer” into a Google search window, and — voila! It showed up as the first image. Clicking on it however, still doesn’t give much info. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it was at some car show in Syracuse. (See the photo on the page, titled: 1950-Ford-Primer-Gray-sy here.) Sue me if I’m wrong. I really like the gray color, with the wide whites and the red rims. It’s giving me ideas for a new look for the YAKmobile.

Thanks for retrieving that gem, Jim. It’s a beauty. Not certain who coined the term ‘shoebox’ to describe this generation of Fords; to me they’re anything but and more akin to what I consider to be perfect symmetry.

JC: If you ever run across anyone who’s looking for the ‘optional’ (was it?) propeller-spinner for the front bumper, let me know. I have one.
