YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

The things you see on a Sunday drive. Here’s a 1956 Studebaker President coupe airing itself out after, I presume, a winter in the garage. It’s almost hard to tell, but this was merely a restyle of the very handsome ’53 Stude — you can still see it in the roofline; all they did was reshape the fenders, hood, and trunk. In case you haven’t picked up on it yourself, the brochure described this as “…Studebaker’s new approach to motorcar styling. Smart yet tasteful touches of chrome…”  and blah, blah, blah. This black and white example looks like it could be the same car used for the brochure illustration. I found it in North Tonawanda. See the brochure here.
