YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

Driving down Ontario Street in Riverside the other day, I came across this 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix which, other than looking a bit tired, seems to be in pretty good shape. What’s with those steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps though? To paraphrase Taylor Swift, I’ve never, ever, ever, seen a GP so-equipped. I’m betting those eight-lug aluminum wheels usually seen on early GPs have been switched to some, “more worthy” Pontiac out there somewhere. I wonder what else is missing?

Browsing through the ’64 Pontiac brochure last night, I noticed on the back page, listed under the “Wheels and Covers” options, is “Wipers, 2-speed electric with washers.” Apparently the proofreaders were on some sort of work slowdown when the copy was being prepared. That would never happen on the YAK Blog. Never, ever, ever.
