YAK Car Pic of the Day

How to Steal a Million[16-19-26]

I was looking for something else on the Internet Movie Cars Data Base (IMCDb.org) when I came across Audrey Hepburn and this 1965 Autobianchi Bianchina cabriolet, from the 1966 movie How to Steal A Million. I’ve never seen the movie, but I might look for it now just to see if there are any more neat little European cars. This one looked slightly familiar to me, and further research revealed that it’s the same make that Inspector Clouseau drove in the original Pink Panther movie back in 1963 (in France the car was called the Eden Roc). I guess I’ll have to watch that one again now, too. If you’ve never heard of Autobianchi, it was an Italian firm which was eventually taken over by Fiat, and the Bianchina was based on the tiny Fiat 500. The brand disappeared after the 1996 model year.
