YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

There’s still this one car left, from my trip to Howell Motors Ford in Wrights Corners last autumn. This one’s a 1977 Lincoln Continental coupe, a car which I never understood the need for. Whoever heard of such a l-o-n-g car with only two doors? You could hold an opera in the back seat, but the musician’s union would gripe the whole time about having to crawl back there over the front seat. If you wanted a two-door Lincoln, why not just buy a Mark V? I notice in the salesman’s guide, one of the features to be pointed out is the assist straps for closing the doors. No kidding. The really smart people paid someone to push the doors closed from the outside. So you think you’d enjoy seeing more of the 1977 Lincoln? Then click here for a YouTube video of someone turning the pages of the brochure — wearing gloves, yet! Wow. Now if they’d just bring me a beer.
