YAK Car Pic of the Day

Don’t know what made me do it, but the other day I did a Google search for Pacer, the odd-shaped wide little AMC car built from 1975-80. Such a short time span is never a good sign sales-wise. But what amazed me in the Google search was the variety of Pacer links out there:

That French AMC ad is  a real exercise in misdirected subliminal stimulus. Did they really expect viewers to be be so “enthused” [I could use another descriptor here but I still adhere to standards of decorum considered by many to be archaic] about the model’s supple bottom that they’d rush out to acquire a Pacer to recapture the experience?  But then, it’s the libidinous French and suspect that it would be near impossible to get them to give up their Citroens, Renaults, and Peugeots for a Pacer without a promise of a fling or for that matter, something else which I also won’t mention.
