YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Here, from last summer, is a pristine 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. How do I know it’s a ’66? Well, I’m assuming the person who attached the 1966 Volkswagen license plate frame knew what he/she was doing. Otherwise, unless you’re a real Bug aficionado, it’s not easy to tell the years apart. You know, every time I see those little headlight eyebrows it makes me think the car looks sad. Old Bugs shouldn’t be sad — they’re too much fun. This one was spotted For Sale in a Tonawanda parking lot.

Great looking Bug, Jim and I’m with you – those eyebrows need to go!

  • The 1300 script on the deck lid gives it away. Only the ’66 models (in North America anyway) had a 1300 cc engine. Prior to that it was 1200 cc, and it went to 1500 cc in a967.
