YAK Car Pic of the Day

Not many people leave their old cars out in the snow, but when they do you’ll see them here… like this 1981 Ford Fairmont, which has been sitting in this Cambria lot for a while now. The mid-sized Fairmont was a successor to Ford’s compact Maverick, and, with a bench seat, held six passengers — something you rarely see these days even in full-sized cars. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been seeing a rash of Fairmonts lately. Most of them, unlike this example, are rusted to oblivion (but still running!). Ford was perfectly clear on the equipment level of the base Fairmont in their brochure: “The standard Fairmont, with more standard features than ever!” Okay, you convinced me, where do I sign! See all of the 1981 Fairmonts in their pre-rust glory right here.
