YAK Car Pic of the Day

When I first started posting these pics way back when, I called photos like this one “Wheels in the Grass.” And this 1966 Chevy Chevelle 300 certainly would have fit right in, as it was slowly sinking into the grass down in Hermitage, N.Y., where it was wearing a For Sale sign back in July of 2009 when I took this photo. The 300 was the base Chevelle series in ’66, followed upwards by the 300 Deluxe and the Malibu & Malibu SS. There were some interesting options offered for the year, such as: a sweep second hand clock (you would have thought they could offer a new clock rather than a second hand one); tri-volume horn (loud, louder, and loudest?); and front or rear bumper guards (it doesn’t specify whether or not the guards were armed). See all of the 1966 Chevelles here.
