YAK Car Pic of the Day

I wish I could have followed this trailer and gotten a better shot, but it turned the wrong way at the intersection and I had someplace to be. Going along for the ride is a rare (these days) 1952 Studebaker Deluxe Starlight coupe, which was headed towards the City of Niagara Falls on Hyde Park Boulevard yesterday morning. At least I managed this crummy phone photo at the red light. Tom McCahill of Mechanix Illustrated magazine road-tested a couple of ’51 Stude sedans, and said they “…offer the best forward visibility of any car on the road today.” And I’ll add that the same probably goes for these Starlight coupes, rearward-visionwise. You can check out a brochure of the 1952 Studebaker lineup, in all of its weirdness, by clicking here.
