YAK Car Pic of the Day

Sorry to offend any of you out there who’ve ever rented one of these things, but the only way you’d ever find me in one is with a bag over my head. Gross! Sit me in the back seat of a nice black Lincoln Town Car (which is what this monstrosity started life as) — or, better yet, a Russian-made 1957 GAZ Chaika (the favored transportation of Soviet bloviators back in the day) and drive me to my polo match. These gaudy Excalibur conversions merely make a statement which is unprintable in this family-friendly forum. This one was seen a short time ago in a North Tonawanda used car lot. I wonder what it was traded for?

And if you’re wondering, yesterday’s mystery yellow and red station wagon was a 1958 Simca Marly; you can view the whole lineup in the Dutch brochure by clicking here.
