YAK Car Pic of the Day

I imagine the last thing you might want to see in your driveway is this 198o’s vintage Buick Estate Wagon. It’s used by a Kenmore funeral parlor for, you know, “business.” The Estate Wagon would give way to the Roadmaster wagon in 1991, which, by virtue of its shape, looked to be much bigger, but really wasn’t. My favorite word to describe the Roadmaster wagon is “bulbous,” and it made the Estate Wagon look positively archaic.

’93 Roadmaster

— Jim Corbran, You Auto Know…

  • Come on Jim, this was known as a “Road Whale with the Look of Real Wood”.      Reminds me of an old hearse I saw at a cruise night with the bumper sticker, “Put the Fun Back in Funeral”.

    • I can’t dislike the Roadmaster. My son’s friend has one, and he recently helped me haul some drywall home in the back. And the three of us rode in the front.
