YAK Car Pic of the Day

I’m liking the paint job and the flashy chrome on this 1957 Buick Special four-door Riviera (all Buick pillarless hardtops were called Rivieras), but I’m not diggin’ the K-Mart hubcaps. What’s up with that? The Special was the entry-level Buick back in ’57 — this model started at $2,780 and 50,563 were produced. Buick said in the brochure that it was “bedrock-priced.” Not sure if that was supposed to mean it was the lowest priced Buick (it was if you were talking about the two-door sedan), or if the price was set in stone — no haggling, please! Saw this one this past summer on Grand Island.
