YAK Car Pic of the Day

From the looks of the car in the driveway, I’d say Aunt Helga is visiting from Minnesota. Okay, so matronly aunts weren’t the only buyers of cars like this 1965 Dodge Dart 270 sedan, seen over the summer in the Town of Wilson. But looking at it does give off that vibe. The 270 was a step up from the basic Dart, but this owner was too frugal to spring for the full wheel covers; I see there’s a radio, though. And whitewalls. All Darts were available with six- or eight-cylinder power, and the Dart GT two-door hardtop equipped with a 273 CID V-8 and a four-bbl carburetor (rated at 235 hp) was actually a pretty hot car. Smokers will be gladdened to hear that the Dart’s rear armrests were equipped with “ash receivers.”
