YAK Car Pic of the Day

Just down the road a-piece from yesterday’s ’65 Chevy in the Town of Porter sits this 1957 Ford station wagon. At first glance I thought it was a highly-sought after Del Rio or Ranch Wagon two-door. Upon closer inspection, one sees that it’s merely a four-door with the rear door handles removed. Which means either it’s a Country Sedan (my guess), or a Country Squire that someone went to the trouble of removing the woodgrain from (probably not). You can view all of the 1957 Ford wagons here. From the flat primer paint job and the zoomy-looking rims, I’m guessing that this one’s not being restored back to showroom condition. Still, it’s interesting in the fact that it’s not something you see every day. Unless of course, you drive down this road every day.
