YAK Car Pic of the Day

’86 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2, Cambria, N.Y.

No, this isn’t that old. But just over 1,100 of these 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 coupes left the factory, making it a pretty rare find. At that time Pontiac was heavily invested into the NASCAR circuit, and the 2+2 was an attempt to put a more aerodynamic car on the track. The front end was slicker, and the roofline extended farther back via a bubble-type rear window which led to a trunklid-mounted spoiler. I can’t say the back end looked better than the regular version, but I thought the front was interestingly designed. This rare car is for sale in front of a home in the Town of Cambria.
