The Return of the Return of Lenihan

This week, outgoing (?) Erie County Democratic Party chairman Len Lenihan sent a letter to party town and zone chairs in which he lists his accomplishments over 10 years of leadership.

He then offers to stay on as chairman:

If our County Committee can’t make a united decision in the near future I would be willing to stay on as your chairman.

Together we can rebuild Unity and make Erie County one of the best places to raise a family. If you choose to allow me another term (in order for unity) then my fisrt goal will be to make sure that Kathy Hochul is reelected to Congress. We need a United team we don’t have time to fight each other for Chairman.

Lenihan has announced his retirement twice in the last year: last summer, under pressure of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s political machine, who wanted to bring peace and unity to the region; and just recently.

UPDATE: We’ve just been told this letter may be a hoax. If it is, does anyone know who sent it?

  • “Noooooooooooo! Nooooooooooo! That JOB is mi-i-i-i-i-i-ne!!!

    Sincerely,

    Kim Jeremy Un
    The Great Successor”

    • kulyk is sooooooooooo bitter, kinda reminds me of the time kulyk demanded lenihan fire his entire staff because kulyk’s requested docs were not ready when he went to hq to pick them up.  his comments here and elsewhere are why kulyk got the ax himself, or was it max.   maybe kulyk belongs at republican hq, maybe steffie can get him another patronage job now that kulyk is with another republican, hmmmmm, maybe that way kulyk got the ax too.   poor little andrew begs shenk for a job then goes begging to steffie when he is kicked to the curb, nick is stuck with him now

  • KHLenihan

    this is definitely a hoax.

    Kathy Lenihan,
    Len’s wife

  • There are rumors that it came from some prominent curmudgeon on the West Side of Buffalo, but I won’t
    name names.
