YAK Car Pic of the Day

Although it may have seemed like they were everywhere when they were new, honestly, when was the last time you saw a 1977 Toyota Celica GT? I thought so. This beautiful example was on display at last week’s Hemming’s Sports & Exotic Car Show in Saratoga Springs. The sporty rear wheel-drive Celica coupe debuted in Tokyo in 1970, while this liftback body style came along three years later. Many thought it looked like a mini-Mustang. The Celica switched over to front wheel-drive in 1985, and the last (so far), seventh-generation of the sporty car was the 2006 model, which was sold only in Japan.
