YAK Car Pic of the Day

’49 Plymouth, Grand Island, N.Y.

Parked next to this nifty 1949 Plymouth at Theodore’s Red Hots on Grand Island a few weeks ago. The owner (that’s him in the dark t-shirt, with his Dad) told me he’d recently bought it from the car’s second owner in Silver Creek, who had bought it a while ago from the original owner in Pennsylvania. It’s an un-restored original, with all of the parking lot dings (I didn’t do it!) and other perfections still in place.

    That’s a nice ride!

    • Max, there sure is a lot of room to stretch out in there!

I’m guessing the wheel covers are not original.

    • The wheel covers look, to me, like they’re from a ’57 Plymouth. The skinny whitewalls are also not original.
