YAK Car Pic of the Day

Yesterday we showed you a Cadillac Seville with a fake spare tire hump on the trunklid. Today, direct from a Tonawanda front yard, here is a 1965 Chevy Corvair 500 with a real spare tire attached to the rear bumper. This must be an owner-added extra, as scanning the option list doesn’t show a continental spare tire kit, as they were known back then. Maybe someone had a J.C. Whitney catalog handy. That might also explain the rear fender skirts. Back in 1965 this very car, minus the extras, could have been yours for $2,066.
