YAK Car Pic of the Day

’50 Ford, Niagara Falls USA

Found this 1950 Ford coupe in Niagara Falls earlier this week, so I hung out the car window (without a tether!) to get this shot. It’s dressed in period clothes: flat paint job, oversized fender skirts, wide whites, Dodge Lancer spinner hubcaps, dummy spotlights, and blue dot tail lights. Rad ride!

Appreciate your risk here, Jim; that’s one sweet ride and an example of excellent execution of the ‘rod’ concept. I’ve seen some not as well done and the cars look butchered to me as they eradicated the machine’s original design elements. You have to say that the ’49-’51 Ford ‘shoe boxes’ – particularly the coupes – offered superb design characteristics.
