Canadian Songstress Linda McRae at Sportsmen’s Happy Hour

You may be familiar with Linda McRae through her work with her old band, platinum-selling Spirit of the West. Tonight, you have a chance to hear her with a crack lineup of local aces (Jim Whitford, Doug Yeomans, Mark Panfil and Randy Bolam) backing her up.
Here’s praise for McRae from Hamburg native and Americana Music Awards 2009 Instrumentalist of the Year Gurf Morlix: “Linda’s absolute love of traditional roots music runs deep down into the Appalachian dirt, and it shows in everything she does. Total commitment! And now she’s playin’ the clawhammer banjo! Gotta love it!”
Plus, it’s a happy hour show. $3 admission, 5:30pm-8:30pm at the fabulous Sportsmen’s Tavern, 326 Amherst Street.
