This Saturday: Zombie Walk for Teens & Tweens

News points to all signs that the looming zombie apocalypse is already upon us. If you can’t beat the shuffling corpses, why not join them? And what better place for hungry teen and tween zombies to satiate their hunger for plump, juicy brains than the Buffalo Public Library. The Library’s 2012 Summer Reading Carnival Celebration will kick off their “Own the Night” reading theme this year with a zombie walk around Lafayette Square on Saturday, June 16.  Junior ghouls should come dressed in their tatterd garb and at 1p.m., the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library’s Children’s Programming Team and Terror Technologies of Buffalo will add finishing touches with creepy make-up. While the library does not promise any cerebral snacks, there will be treats following the march. The undead festivities continue with a showing of Tim Burton’s  stop-motion picture, The Corpse Bride. The carnival will also feature the Magic of Mr. J and a special appearance by Pinkalicious from the Theatre of Youth. -leigh giangreco
