AAA All Star Game – Tickets Going Fast

Waiting until the last minute may not be the best strategy, as tickets are going and going fast for next month’s AAA All Star Game and Home Run Derby which will take place July 9 and July 11 at Coca Cola Field.

The Bisons yesterday issued an update, reporting that only 5500 tickets remain for the game and less than 7000 tickets are available for the Home Run Derby. All suites and party decks are sold out. There is one party option left – fans can purchase a combo ticket for the Home Run Derby which includes a 2 hour buffet in the All-You-Can-Eat-Pavilion-Party. The team is also releasing 200 sets of family four packs for the game, which for $99 includes four seats in the baseline sections, four hot dogs and four sodas.

In addition to previously announced events and celebrity appearances, the team also announced that famed beer vendor and ballpark character “The Earl of Bud” will make an appearance at the All Star Game, dancing his signature moves to the song “Tequila”. The Earl was a fixture with the Bisons in their final seasons at War Memorial Stadium and then downtown in the ballpark’s early years. Also, Joe Delameilleure, former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman and Hall of Famer, has joined up to participate in the Home Run Derby.

There will also be entertainment options added outside the ballpark as part of the festivities. The Coca Cola “Swelter Stopper” truck will allow fans to trek through virtual snowflakes as they enjoy a cold soda. Also, A Kinect for Xbox 360 vehicle and stage will allow fans to experience full body game play using the latest advancement sin state of the art Kinect technology.

This will be the first such event to be held in Buffalo since the inaugural AAA All Star Game which took place here in 1988, the first year of the ballpark in what was then called Pilot Field. That event also drew a sellout crowd and was viewed by a national television audience.
