David Byrne on Bikes

Cynthia Van Ness sends us this link to former Talking Heads front man David Byrne’s opinion piece in the New York Times from this past weekend. An avid biker and advocate, the 60-year-old musician/artist talks about changes in bike infrastructure in NYC and around the world. Moreover, he focuses on the sheer joy of riding, and the good it does communities. His book Bicycle Diaries—which chronicles his biking adventures around the globe—is a fabulous read if you can laugh your way through the opening chapter that describes a crummy ride from Amherst to Niagara Falls via Niagara Falls Boulevard.
