YAK Car Pic of the Day

Every once in a while, at a Burger King on Military Road in Niagara Falls, there’s a bunch of old cars in the parking lot. On this day one of them was this cool 1951 Mercury — a “LedSled” as the license plate says. Equipped with dual exhausts, and, as the ads of the day read, Mercury’s “V-type 8-cylinder engine that’ll give you the biggest thrill!” this was the final year for this body style, as 1952 would bring about a more Ford-like shape, and along with it Mercury’s (and Ford’s) first two-door hardtop body style.
