YAK Car Pic of the Day

'81 Fiat 2000 Spider, Grand Island, N.Y.

Here we have a 1981 Fiat 2000 Spider, which has been parked on Grand Island for some time now. The Spider was sold by Fiat in North America from 1966-78, originally as the 124 Spider, and then as a joint effort by Fiat and the Spider’s Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina as the Fiat 2000 Spider until 1982. Beginning in 1983, Fiat left the American market, and Pininfarina continued to build and market the car as the Pininfarina Spider Azzura for three more years (when they finally stopped production it was because they needed the space to build the new Cadillac Allante).

FIAT = Fix It Again Tony! I drove a FIAT 238 (Van) when I was stationed in Naples 1977-1980. It got us around pretty good, I realy had no problems with it. I sold it to a USAF Sargarent when I git transfered to New London.
