I thought it might be interesting to see if anyone can identify the year, make, and model of the car in today’s pic. (I’ve Photoshopped out any nameplates in case you’re thinking of enlarging it!) Look for the answer over the weekend.

It’s got German tags on it. That’s the best I can do.

  • Max

Good one, Jim! This one’s a real challenge. I’m going to build on Joe’s license plate detective work and guess it’s a Ford Taunus, the German Ford. Year/model? I’m guessing it’s a ’64 or ’65 P5.

  • pirate’s code

Max is right, I think. 1965 P5 Taunus. The letters T A U N U S should be spread across the trunk right where it curves down toward the license, with some sort of chromed decorative wing under the letters.

I remember the P2 TAUNUS, from the late 50’s. It was not to pretty.

  • Joseph Coppola

    too pretty. Sorry

even better, this looks like the same exact car/picture; Phil Seed’s Virtual Car Museum, says it’s a 1964 Ford Taunus 17M. Different plate, though.
