SUNY Research Foundation Surrenders to FOIL

The Albany Times Union reports that the SUNY Research Foundation has put up the white flag in their drawn-out fight against complying with the Freedom of Information Law.

In addition, the SUNY RF must pay $30,000 of its $1 billion budget to the Hearst Corporation—TU’s parent company—for legal fees.

Hats off to James M. Odato, and the newspaper that has been working since 2009 to force this public entity to show its records to the public.

Let the sunshine in.

Interesting development; are the shredders already whirring in UB’s Center for Tomorrow, home to the UB Foundation: a pot of $410 million or so that has pretty much the same relation to UB as the RF has to SUNY?

You don’t suppose that a bevy of desperate WNY capitalists with unmonitored access to said pot of money could have done something unethical, or even illegal?

Think Count Dracula + venetian blinds.

    “And your little dog too”

Actually, Nancy might look kinda hot in black & white striped leggings and a pointy hat….but the royal blue pantsuit would screw it up.

Did Monica already melt? Or just move back to Sincinnati?

What ever became of the audit of the SUNY Research Foundation that the NYS Comptroller started in June 2011?
