YAK Car Pic of the Day

The Griswold's '88 Taurus wagon

Although maybe not quite as gaudy-looking as their Ford Country Squire in the original “Vacation” movie, nonetheless this 1988 Ford Taurus wagon, with its tacked-on woodgrain (there never was a Taurus Squire made by Ford), played a big part in the beginning of the 1989 movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” One of my favorite parts was Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) not paying attention and driving the car underneath the logging truck. Chase was born to play Griswold, and the Vacation movies (except maybe for the one set in Las Vegas) are still funny to this day. At least, to me.

Merry Christmas everyone!
