YAK Car Pic of the Day

Lotus Europa, Lewiston, N.Y.

This one’s definitely from the department of “you don’t see one of these every day.” It’s a Lotus Europa, one of about 9,300 which were built from 1966-75 in England. And yes, it’s short — all of 42 inches in height (only 175 inches long, for that matter, and a mere 1,320 – 1,570 lbs depending on which model).

I told you it was short!

Developing by racing genius Colin Chapman, the Europa was highly successful on the race car circuit. I can’t believe this one was sitting recently in the parking lot of the Lewiston Fire Hall. Read more about the Europa here.

OUCH! HOW DO YOU GET IN (OR BETTER HOW DO YUO GET OUT) OF IT?

I believe each Europa came with a chiropractic gift certificate!
