YAK Car Pic of the Day

Dodge Power Wagon, Niagara Falls USA

Talk about tough-looking trucks. The Dodge Power Wagon was built and sold to the general public after World War II ended — from 1945-1968. It was constantly updated over the years (although outwardly they all looked pretty much the same), and in 1957 started sharing its name with a more conventional-looking line of Dodge pickup-based vehicles. This one though (on a Town of Niagara farm), is one of the originals. Don’t you buy no ugly truck!

I don’t pretend to know all the reasons Dodge discontinued this styling. Perhpas at a certain point it was deemed not trendy or stylish enough to compete with the newer trucks that began to look more and more like suburbanite status symbols. All I have to say of the truck pictured here is “What A Beauty!”

Wish that was still available today.
