YAK Car Pic of the Day

Considering that it’s 47-years-old, I’d say this 1964 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser doesn’t look too bad at all. I saw it early one morning a while back parked on a Wheatfield side street. That little bit of a rise in the roof, complete with window glass, emulated the styling of the Greyhound bus. It didn’t add a ton of room to the interior, although it did help headroom in the rear seating area. The VCs were based on the all-new mid-sized F-85 body style, which up to now had been Old’s compact entry. See the original brochure here. Buick also had a version of the VC wagons in the Special/Skylark-based Skyroof Sportwagon. Vista Cruiser just sounds cooler!
