1951 Buick XP-300 concept

The 1951 Buick XP-300 concept car was pretty much unlike anything on the road at the time. Concept cars — then and now — show what the designers are thinking. Maybe some of it isn’t practical for a production vehicle which will be driven every day, but it often brings forth new ideas which can be tweaked — and their popularity gauged — for future products. You can read the story of the XP-300 here. When I was a kid I had a die-cast toy of this car. Wish I still had it!

LOOKS LIKE SOME CUSTOM RODDERS DREAM. I LOVE THE GRILL, HOODED HEADLIGHTS AND FENDER SKIRTS. THE BOAT TAIL IS A KILLER, TOO! PINK WITH A BLACK INTERIOR? TOO GIRLY?
