Panic! At The Disco

Panic! At The Disco

Wednesday, November 2

Las Vegas rock band Panic! At The Disco have evolved considerably since their modest beginnings as a Blink-182 cover band, with a broad spectrum of influences that complete their unique theatrical vaudeville-esque sound and aesthetic and ever-present pop punk sensibilities. Their third studio album, Vices and Virtues, asserts a sound-altering shift in their dynamic, with vocalist Brendon Urie claiming a more central status in the band following the departures of primary lyricist Ryan Ross and bassist John Walker in 2009. Urie has suggested traces of the Beatles and the Beach Boys in their latest oeuvre. The album’s single, “The Ballad of Mona Lisa” seems to contradict this statement, but you can decide for yourself when the band takes the stage at the Town Ballroom on Wednesday (Nov 2) with special guests Foxy Shazam and Patrick Stump of Fall out Boy. —max soeun kim
