YAK Car Pic of the Day

’88-91 Ford Country Squire, Niagara Falls USA

Not all that old, but the last of its breed, this Ford Country Squire, circa 1988-91, sits forlornly in Niagara Falls. The big station wagon helped move a generation of Americans from the city to the suburbs, and for many of those years Ford was known as the “wagon master.” It was Ford’s last full-sized wagon. You can view the 1988 brochure here.

You can still get that kind of room and capacity…in a Chevy Suburban.

But… a Suburban is a truck, no matter how you cut it, or how luxurious it might be. And it might not fit in the same garage space.
