This Friday (October 21), come join UB Veg Club and the Buffalo Vegetarian Society for a film screening of the recently released nutrition documentary, Forks Over Knives. A vegan potluck and raffle reception will follow, with donations from local merchants such as Tracy’s Cheesecakes. All dishes will be 100% vegan, with some raw and gluten-free options as well. Education tables will be available to provide attendees with informative pamphlets and substitution sampling of non-dairy milks, butters, coconut ice creams, and more. The raffle will feature donated items such as the Forks Over Knives DVD, FOK book, and food items like vegan cheesecakes.
“Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting animal-based and processed foods.” (forksoverknives.com)
The event will begin promptly at 6pm, and the reception will end around 9pm. It will take place at UB North Campus, at the Ellicott Complex in room Fillmore 170. Directions and parking instructions are available on the Facebook event page and the BVS website (buffaloveg.com), as well as the SUNY Buffalo website. This event is free and open to the general public. Free-will donations will be accepted.
