Tonight, 7-9pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church (695 Elmwood Avenue), David Cobb of the activist group Move to Amend will discuss the US Suprme Court’s ruling in the Citizens United case, which further opened the floodgates on corporate spending in an election system already awash in cash.
Cobb is an attorney and a former Green Party candidate for president. He will advocate for clarifying differences between the rights and responsibilities of individuals—that is, human beings—and the rights and responsibilities of corporations. His talks, one stop on a nationwide campaign, is sponsored by the Coalition for Economic Justice, the WNY Peace Center, Progressive Democrats of WNY, PUSH Buffalo, and the Green Party of Erie County.
