YAK Car Pic of the Day

Laugh if you will, but this 1981 (or ’82) Plymouth Reliant played a major role in saving Chrysler Corporation from going under. Not so much the K-car itself (as Reliants and their cousins, the Dodge Aries, were known), but the fact that it provided the platform in 1984 for Chrysler’s hugely successful minivans, the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager (and later, the Chrysler Town & Country). What’s remarkable about finding this car in Niagara Falls USA the other day, is the fact that it lasted this long. Most K-cars have since returned to dust… or, at least, to rust.
