Beats and Brews

Young Audiences is one of the over 40 arts and cultural organizations that the Give for Greatness campaign was created to help support. In order to engage young people in creative learning through the arts, Young Audiences presents professional artists from many art forms such as music, theater, dance, visual arts, literary arts, multi-media arts, and more. Show your support for this worthy organization at the Beats & Brews fundraiser tomorrow (May 7) at 8:30pm at the Sportsmen’s Tavern (326 Amherst Street). For $20 you will experience music by John & Mary and the Valkyries, spoken word performers Annette Daniels-Taylor, Alex Mead, Sherry Robbins, and emcee Rodney Appleby (on guitar). Each of the award-winning performers featured works with Young Audiences to engage children in learning through the arts. Young Audiences WNY Executive Director Cynnie Gaasch explained:

“In 2010 we served over 60,000 young people. This year, due to cultural and educational funding cuts, our fundraising events and individual donors have taken on a more significant role in helping us to maintain and grow the number of children that we can serve…This event is a fun and inexpensive way to learn more about our what we do for kids and help us to continue to bring high-quality artistic experiences into schools.”
