Wheels in the Grass

This 1951 Buick Special 4-door Tourback sedan can be seen parked in Tonawanda, just a stone’s throw from canalside. I’m not sure what’s going on with that two-toning (especially on the hood), as it doesn’t look original. This Special, as you can tell from the shadow of the missing script on the trunklid, is equipped with Dynaflow — something these days we’d just refer to as an automatic transmission. Only 999 of the non-Deluxe four-door sedans were built that year, listing at $2139, making this a pretty rare find.
