Wheels in the Grass

1966 Chrysler New Yorker, Niagara Falls, N.Y.

This 1966 Chrysler New Yorker , sitting in a back lot in Niagara Falls, N.Y., looks to be in pretty good shape other than the vinyl material which is tearing on the C-pillar. All New Yorkers came standard with a  440-cu. in., 350 hp V-8, which I’m sure was just swell on gas!  This one listed for $4,233 plus options, and 26,599 of them were built that year. A rather unique-looking six-window sedan was also available in both the Newport and New Yorker series (see below). This was the year the 300 series lost its letter designation, with the 300L of 1965 being the last — at least until a 300M four-door sedan appeared for 1999, a far cry from the original letter series cars.
